Josh Turner is in his first season as the graduate assistant for the Hinds baseball program, where he works with the Eagles outfielders, as well as assisting with the hitters and baserunners.
Turner played two seasons at Paul D. Camp (Va.) Community College, where he helped the Hurricanes get to the conference tournament in 2021. After his time on the East Coast, Turner would then complete his athletic career at Missouri Valley College, where he was a two-year letterman as a catcher on the diamond and a three-time member of the college's Dean's List in the classroom. He would then go on to spend the 2025 season as a graduate assistant coach at Missouri Valley before heading to Raymond in August 2025.
Beyond his year as a GA at MVC, Turner also served as the Head Coach for the Gulf Breeze Flamingos in The Hangout Summer League in Pensacola, Fla., where he sent multiple players onto top summer leagues throughout the country (Landon Scruggs - Appalachian League, Adam Wideman - Appalachian League, Eli Maddox - Coast Plain League and Otis Brooks- Texas Collegiate League). While coaching the Flamingos, Turner went 11-3 and had eight players named on the Hangout League East All-Star Team. It was at the league All-Star game where he also served as the head coach for the East team.
Turner completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from MVC in 2024 and is currently pursuing a master's degree from MVC as well.
