RAYMOND- The Hinds Community College Lady Eagles soccer team clinched a spot in the MACJC playoffs with its 2-0 win against Northwest Mississippi Community College (NWCC) this past Friday (Oct 12).
 
The Hinds women's soccer team defeated NWCC in conference play for the second time this season putting the team securely into third place in the North Division of the MACJC. The Lady Eagles three wins all came against North Division opponents which secures a spot in the 2018 playoffs. This appearance marks the first appearance for the program since 2015 which comes in Brandon Mitchell's first season as head coach of the team.
 
Mitchell, on the playoff appearance, states, "The team is excited about this accomplishment. Coming into the season, our main focus was to find a way to win games and specifically the one's that will help us secure a spot in the playoffs."
 
The Lady Eagles soccer team will open up their playoff journey on the road this Thursday, October 18 at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinson. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM.
 
"I told the girls I'm proud of them but our season isn't finished yet," Mitchell states. "This was just the first step in our journey, and now our focus is to play as long as we can and keep advancing."
