LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA – The Hinds Community College men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships this Friday, March 6
th and Saturday, March 7
th.
The NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held at the Liberty University Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg, Virginia.
The men's track and field team is currently ranked No. 14 in the nation by USTFCCCA.
The men's team also has multiple individuals who are ranked nationally in the NJCAA in their respective events.
Corvell Todd is ranked No. 1 in the men's high jump.
Kurt Powdar is ranked No. 2 in the men's 60 meter hurdles.
Tyrese Cooper is ranked No. 5 in the men's 200 meters, and No. 22 in the men's 60 meter.
Al-Tariq Dunson is ranked No. 7 in the men's 60 meter hurdles.
Morgan Jamison is ranked No. 14 in the men's 200 meters and No. 20 in the men's 60 meter.
The women's track and field team is currently ranked No. 12 in the nation by the USTFCCCA.
The women's team also has multiple individuals who are ranked nationally in the NJCAA in their respective events.
Breanna Brown-Marshall is ranked No. 1 in the women's high jump
Sophia Meyers is ranked No. 5 in the women's 60 meter hurdles.
Okera Myrie is ranked No. 8 in the women's 200 meters and No. 9 in the women's 60 meters.
Kimorla Mushette is ranked No. 11 in the women's 400 meters.
Jasmine Ward is ranked No. 12 in the women's 400 meters.
