Box Score PERKINSTON - The Hinds Community College Lady Eagle soccer team fell 3-2 in extra time to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Friday evening.
For the second time this season, the Lady Eagles were able to force extra time after being down 2-0.
In this match, the Lady Bulldogs kicked off the scoring on a corner kick in the fourth minute. But, no further damage was done in the first half.
Fourteen minutes into the second half, Gulf Coast grabbed their second goal, going up 2-0 with 31 minutes to play.
In the final 10 minutes of the match, the Lady Eagles started their scoring. In the 80th minute, sophomore forward
Hannah Herren (Florence)Â found the back of the net after an Eagle corner kick. This goal was Herren's third of the season.
The second Eagle goal came from the foot of
Hailey Sundeen (Kiln) on a long ball that got past the keeper. This score was Sundeen's first goal of 2021.
The match then went to extra time where the Lady Bulldogs grabbed the golden goal in the second period to secure the 3-2 victory.
The Lady Eagles return to the pitch Friday, October 8 as they play host to Copiah-Lincoln Community College. The game will kick-off at 5 p.m. on Tom Shepherd Field in Raymond.
