Box Score RIDGELAND - The Hinds Community College Lady Eagle soccer team came back from a two-goal deficit to draw with Holmes Tuesday night.
The scoring started in the 30th minute when Holmes grabbed their first goal of the evening. This goal was the only score by either squad in the first half. Holmes took this one goal lead into the break.
Roughly six minutes into the second half, the Lady Bulldogs earned their second goal of the evening on a shot from midfield.Â
The Lady Eagles needed a spark to get back in the game. With ten minutes left in the game, sophomore defender
Kaitlin Hubbard (Florence) found the back of the net on an assist from
Hannah Herren (Florence) to cut into the Bulldog lead.
This lead was quickly diminished five minutes later when
Hannah Herren scored on an assist from freshman forward
Frankie Wood. The game was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation.
Neither team was able to score in both periods of extra time, and the game ended in a draw.
The Lady Eagles return to the pitch Friday, September 17 as they play host to Northwest Mississippi Community College. The game will kick-off at 5 p.m. on Tom Shepherd Field in Raymond.
