Box Score RAYMOND - Hinds Community College Eagle Soccer shut out East Central Community College 5-0 Friday evening to move to 3-1 in division play.
After not scoring in the first half, the Eagles netted five goals in the second half.
"I think we are starting to play our best soccer," head coach
Doug Williams said. "Our chemistry is really starting to show, and we are really putting ourselves in a position for success," Williams said.
Cashing in the first goal of the evening was sophomore forward
Greg Anderson (Jackson) shortly after the second half began. This goal was Anderson's fifth score of the 2021 season.
The scoring was led by sophomore midfielder
Joseph Cumberland (Gulfport). Cumberland finished the evening with two goals against the Warriors, both of them coming within 10 minutes of each other.
Scoring the fourth goal of the night was sophomore forward
Jorge Munoz (Laurel), his second score of the season.
The fifth and final goal of the contest was scored by sophomore forward
Satsuki Mori (Japan) on a free kick just outside of the box.
The Eagles return to Tom Shepherd Field on Tuesday, September 28 as they play host to Jones College. The game will kick-off at 7 p.m. in Raymond.
