Box Score RAYMOND – Hinds Community College men's soccer made their 2021 debut this evening where they fell 3-2 to Southwest Mississippi Community College.
The match got off to a quick start when Southwest found the back of the net on a penalty kick with 35:12 left in the first half.
About seven minutes later, the Eagles grabbed their first goal of the season when
Alejandro Pocasangre scored off of a
Greg Anderson assist.
Southwest answered this goal 16 minutes later with a goal of their own to re-take the lead just before the half. But, the Eagles grabbed some much needed momentum when
Greg Anderson grabbed his first goal of the season. The score at the half was 2-2.
The contest remained neck-and-neck all through-out the second half until Southwest scored with 17:25 left in the game. The Eagles were unable to answer, and Southwest edged out a 3-2 victory.
The Eagles are back in action on Sunday, September 5 at 7 p.m. as they play host to St. Charles Community College on Tom Shepherd field in Raymond.
