Box Score RAYMOND – The Hinds Community College women's soccer team fell 3-2 in their second game of the season to Southwest Mississippi Community College.
After a defensive struggle, Southwest struck first with 22:32 left in the first half. But, about 12 minutes later, the Lady Eagles tied the game up on a penalty kick from sophomore
Macey Peacock to end the first half.
This tight contest continued into the late minutes of the second half. At the 10:21 mark, Southwest found the back of the net to grab the late lead. However, the Lady Eagles responded when Peacock grabbed her second goal of the contest. Peacock leads the team with three goals on the season.
The Southwest Lady Bears sealed the deal with 1:48 left by scoring their third goal, a hat trick for Alexandra Shimasaki.
The Lady Eagles return to the pitch on Sunday, September 5 at 5 p.m. as they play host to St. Charles Community College on Tom Shepherd Field in Raymond.
