RAYMOND – Two Hinds Community College men's soccer players were named All-Conference by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) when the conference released their postseason honors Wednesday.
Sophomores
Dorian Allen (Terry) and Sonny Bizure (North Billerica, MA) were among the names of those receiving postseason honors. Allen was named second-team All-MACCC as a defender and Bizure was named honorable mention as a midfielder.
Allen concludes his Eagle career with yet another postseason honor as he was named a first-team defender for 2021. Allen was the key to stopping opposing attacks.
"Dorian had an incredible season and is a player that I respect so much not just his ability but his leadership on and off the field," said head coach Robert Gardner. "He is so deserving to be recognized by the coaches in this league and I know he has a very bright future in this game and in life."
Bizure made an impact on this year's team finishing with five goals. He also was great at distributing the ball by assisting five other goals. Bizure's biggest goal came in the Region 23/Gulf South District quarterfinal against Co-Lin when he buried the deciding goal to go up 4-2 over the Wolves.
"Sonny was a player who arrived to us towards the end of the summer and someone we believed would help us in defense," said Gardner. "However, he was so versatile and played on the back line and in midfield and the forward line as well. His creativity was so special and important to the success we found in the middle of the season. We are so happy he has been recognized."
