Track and Field releases 2023 schedule

RAYMOND, MS – National powerhouse, Hinds Community College track and field, returns to action this spring where they look to defend and earn more national titles.
 
2022 Recap

In 2022, the Eagles had yet another successful campaign. During the indoor season, Hinds racked up one national championship and two national runner-ups. Ole Miss signee, Jerricka Ambus, won the women's 60-meter hurdles, while Aaron Fortenberry (Brandon) and Diandrenique Gaines (Natchez) were national runners-up in their respective events. After the 2022 outdoor season, Ambus took home another national championship in the women's 100-meter hurdles, while Breanna Brown-Marshall, Alfonso Hale and Dapriest Hogans (Opelousas, LA) were national runners-up.
 
Indoor Schedule

The Eagles plan to participate in five meets during the indoor season, which runs from early January to early March.
 
Hinds will begin their indoor season in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the LSU Purple Tiger meet on January 13. Next, they will head to Birmingham, Alabama for the Samford Invite on January 21. The Eagles will then have a three-week break until their next meet, which is once again in Birmingham for the Samford Bulldog Invite, taking place on February 10-11. One week later, Hinds headed back to Baton Rouge for the LSU Twilight on February 17. The indoor season will culminate at the National Championship Meet in Topeka, Kansas. The national meet will take place March 3-4.
 
Outdoor Schedule

Seven meets are on the schedule for the Eagles for the outdoor season. This season will begin on March 25 and end in May.
 
First up, Hinds will stay close to home and attend the Belhaven University Invitational in Jackson on March 25. Next up, the Eagles head to Hattiesburg for the Southern Miss Invitational, which starts on March 31. For the next meet, Hinds will return home for the annual Hinds Relays taking place in Raymond on April 6. The Southeastern Strawberry Relays in Hammond, Lousiana on April 15 is the next meet Hinds will attend. The Eagles then will head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the Crimson Tide Invitational on April 22.
 
The final two meets include the Mike McMillan Twilight in Clinton at Mississippi College (April 28) and the National Championship Meet in Hobbs, New Mexico (May 18-20).
