ELLISVILLE – Hinds Community College women's tennis advanced to the semifinals of the 2022 Region 23 tournament with a 5-4 win over Co-Lin Thursday.
Going into singles, Hinds was down 1-2.
Eni Anic (Croatia) sealed the deal in the deciding singles match by winning the tie-breaker, first to ten, match.
Head coach Jackie Millet was proud of her team's fight.
"It was a dramatic match with Co-Lin from start to finish," said Millet. "We were down 1-2 after doubles. It was going to be tough to take four of the six singles matches. The Lady Eagles battled hard on all courts and tied it up at 4-4 with one court remaining, number one singles.
Eni Anic from Croatia won the first set 6-4 but fell short in the second, 3-6. The entire match was resting on Eni's shoulders and a 10 point tiebreaker. She showed her mental toughness and pulled out the win at 12-10. Coach Wooten and I are proud of this team for their continued growth and maturity throughout this year. They were led by some awesome sophomores who should do well wherever they land next year."
Below are the results for women's tennis from today's matches.

- Myesha and Nyesha Nealon (Greenville) won their doubles match 9-8
Singles:
