Wooten, Gonzalez receive ITA Awards for 2022

RAYMOND – Hinds Community College tennis assistant coach Elizabeth Wooten and sophomore player Itzel Lara Gonzalez received awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Monday.

Wooten, a former tennis player at Hinds, was named Assistant Coach of the Year for Region III in her first year as an assistant coach with the Eagles.

Gonzalez, of Mexico, was named the Region III Most Improved Sophomore for her performance in 2022. Prior to this honor, Itzel was also named to the 2022 All-Conference team by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC).
