UTICA, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Men's basketball team fell in a close contest to the Mississippi Delta Community College 89-83 on Monday evening in the home opener.
Hinds had a slow start to open the game, but the Bulldogs fought back with five minutes left in the first half to take the 38-35 advantage going into the halftime break. The Trojans caught a second half spark and outscored the Bulldogs 54-45 in the second half to take the 89-83 victory over the Bulldogs in the home opener.
The Bulldogs were led in scoring by
Joseph Dupree, who finished the contest with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Additionally, Dupree went 9-for-18 from the field and shot 54.5 percent from behind the arc.
Elijah Kennedy and
Jakobe Singleton scored 10 points in the game, while
Edarious Williams and
Jaquarrius Collum fined the night with nine points. Rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs was
Jamari Glover (8PTS),
Joshua Lemon (6 PTS),
Isaiah Davis (4 PTS), and
Dion Perkins (3 PTS).
Hinds will return to action on Thursday, November 9 against Holmes Community College inside J.D. Boyd Gymnasium. Tip off is set for 7:30 PM.
