UTICA, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Women's Basketball team ended 2023 with a 68-60 win over Baton Rouge CC this past Saturday in J.D Boyd Gym. With the win, the Lady Bulldogs move to 3-4 overall.
Offensively, the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Bears 41-14 after the first two quarters of play to take the commanding lead into the halftime break. The Lady Bears returned from the break with vengeance and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 46-27 in the final two quarters, but Hinds held on to take the 68-60 victory.
Lamaria jones led all scorers with 17 points, while
Kimiyah Williams finished the game with 16 points. Additionally, Williams went 5-for-9 from the field and shot 50% from long range.
Jaydia Morris concluded the contest with 10 points and
Jayiah Ransom shot 75% from the floor and totaled nine points.
Chasity Woodard and
Brooklyn Harris posted six points apiece and
D'nara Barton rounded out the scoring for the Lady Bulldogs with four points.
The Lady Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday, January 6 against Delgado Community College inside J.D. Boyd Gym. Tipoff is set for 2 PM.
