EVERGREEN, Ala. – The Hinds Community College Women's Basketball team picked up a big road win against the Reid State Technical College Lady Lions 67-51 in Evergreen, AL on Saturday evening. With the win, Hinds moves to 4-2 overall.
The Lady Bulldogs started hot from the floor as they took the 21-12 advantage through the opening quarter of play. Hinds continued to keep the offense moving scoring 16 points in the second quarter to go into the halftime break with a 37-25 advantage.
Coming out of the halftime break, Hinds outscored the Lady Lions 17-14 in the third frame to push the score to 54-39 going into the final 10 minutes of regulation. Hinds outscored Reid State once again in the final frame 13-12 to seal the 67-51 victory over the Lady Lions of Reid State.
Amiyah Simpkins led all scorers with 21 points and shot 50% from beyond the arc. Additionally, she went 7-13 from the field and grabbed four rebounds.
Myan Bartholemy tallied 14 points in the contest, while
Lamaria Jones finished the game with a double-double (13 points and 10 rebounds).
Hinds will take a break for the Thanksgiving holiday and will return to action on November 29
th against Hill College in the Budke/Serna TVCC Thanksgiving Classic in Athens, Texas. Tipoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
