UTICA, Miss. - The Hinds Community College Men's Basketball team picked up a big 93-77 victory over Mississippi Gulf Coast Commuity College in non-conference action inside J.D. Boyd Gymnasium last Thursday night. With the win, Hinds gets back above .500 moving to 5-4 on the season.
Hinds was dominant for the majority of the contest taking the 45-39 at the halftime break. The Bulldogs' offense continued to shine outscoring MGCCC 48-38 in the second half to seal the 93-77 victory over MGCCC.
Jakobe led Hinds with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Additionally, he shot 50% from the floor and went 12-13 from the charity stripe.
Caleb Howard also had a great performance from the bench with 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while
Marquis Williams scored 16 points and shot 77.7% from the field.
Austin Ratliff also had a notable performance scoring his first collegiate double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Hinds will return to action on Monday, December 9th against Southern University-Shreveport (SUSLA) in Shreveport, La. Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM.
