DECATUR, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Men's Basketball team grabbed another big win in MACCC play with an 78-73 victory over East Central on Monday. The Bulldogs current sit T-5th in the current MACCC standings.
In the opening nine minutes of play, the Warriors held the advantage, but the Bulldogs stormed back to take the lead and led 35-27 at the halftime break.
Coming out of the halftime break, Hinds and East Central exchanged bucket for the majority of the second half. The Warriors made a late push with three minutes to play but could not overcome the deficit as the Bulldogs went on to take the 78-73 victory over East Central in Decatur.
Jakobe Singleton played in 39 minutes of the contest and led all scorers with 19 points.
Dion Perkins finished the night with 17 points, while
Edarious Williams collected 13 points and was tied for the team-high of six rebounds.
Joseph Dupree was the final Bulldog to score in double digits with 12 points.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Monday, Feb. 12
th against the Itawamba CC Indians inside J.D Boyd Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM in Utica.
