Hinds Baseball Secures Playoff Spot with Sweep over Co-Lin

WESSON, Miss. –  The Hinds Community College baseball team picked up a doubleheader sweep against Copiah-Lincoln Community College on Wednesday. The Eagles grabbed the 10-3 game one victory and won the pitcher's duel in the second game with a 1-0 win. With the sweep, the Eagles secured a spot in the Region 23 Best-of-3 Playoffs. The seedings are yet to be determined.

In game one of the doubleheader, the Wolves scored two runs in the first inning to take the 2-0 advantage after one inning of play. Hinds cut the lead in half in the second inning and took the lead in the third by a score of 3-2. After a scoreless fourth and fifth inning, the Eagles offense caught fire scoring three runs in the sixth and four runs in the seventh as Hinds extended their lead to 10-2. Co-Lin scored another run in the bottom of the ninth, but the damage was done as the Eagles grabbed the 10-3 game one victory over the Wolves.
