BATON ROUGE, La. – The Hinds Community College Track & Field teams opened up their indoor season on Saturday at the LSU Purple Tiger on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. It was a strong showing for the team, showcasing impressive performance across multiple events.
On the women's side,
Queen Usunobun won the Women's 400m with a time of 57.41.
Caydence Brewer cross the finish line at the 59.24mark for a 2
nd place finish, while
T'Kyla Bennett finished in 4
th place for Hinds.
La'Nica Locker competed in the 60m and finished the event with a time of 7.64. Freshman Hurdler Seanna Gaye-Leslie had a promising debut in the 60mh, clocking a time of 8.75, which was good enough for a 6
thplace finish. In the 4x400 Relay Hinds 'A' team had an impressive performance with a time of 3:54.65, which was a 2
nd place finish.
On the men's side,
Tavon Davis broke the school record in the Men's 600m with a time of 1:19.58 for a 2
ndplace finish in the finals. In the 60 Meters,
Raheem Pinnock qualified for the finals and
Antoine Spillman had a PR in his collegiate debut.
Craig Carson clocked a time of 51.20 in the 400m for a 3
rd place finish. Hinds competed in the 4x400 Relay and finished with a time of 3.22.4 to set an early season standard for relay excellence. Avery Abram competed in the High Jump, which was his first collegiate event and hit the 1.93m (6'4") mark.

Reginald Dillon stated, "The meet was a fantastic way to kickstart the season, with contributions from newcomers and veterans alike. It sets a positive tone for what's to come."
Hinds Track & Field will return to action on February 2
nd when they travel to Birmingham, Ala. To compete in the South Alabama Invite at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
