UTICA, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Men's Basketball team picked up a 78-69 win over East Central CC inside J.D. Boyd Gymnasium on Monday to earn their second conference victory of the season.
The Bulldogs and Warriors went back-and-forth for the majority of first half and finished the first 20 minutes at a stalemate of 28-28. Hinds' offense came alive and score 50 points in the final 20 minutes of play to take the 78-69 victory over the Warriors of East Central.
Daveon Henry led the Bulldogs with 18 points, while freshman
Austin Ratliff finished the game with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Additionally, Ratliff logged 33 minutes and was 5-for-6 from the free-throw line. His brother Issac had an impressive showing as well earning 15 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Issac also shot 60% from the floor and was perfect from the charity stripe.
Hinds will return to action on Monday, February 3rd when we travel to Fulton to take on the Itawamba CC Indians. Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM.
