RAYMOND, Miss. — The Hinds Community College men's soccer team is moving on. Behind a complete team effort and timely offense, the Eagles battled past East Central Community College 2–1 in the Gulf South District Quarterfinals at Tom Shepherd Field.

The visitors got on the board first in the 30th minute, but the Eagles clawed back and found the back of the net just before the halftime break to level the contest up at 1-1. Hinds earned the go-ahead goal in the second half to seal the 2-1 win over the Warriors.

Goalkeeper Elliot Duffy anchored the defense with three saves, shutting down multiple late East Central opportunities to preserve the win.

Hinds will return to action on Wednesday, November 5th for the Gulf South District Quarterfinals match against Pearl River, hosted by Holmes Community College at Freedom Ridge Park. Kickoff is set for 11:00 AM.
