6/4/2026 4:33:00 PM

Raymond, Miss. – Hinds Community College has released its Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the 2025–26 academic year, recognizing 110 student-athletes who achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher while earning at least 12 credit hours. The honorees represent nearly half of the department's student-athlete population.

Compiled by Associate Registrar LaCheryl Taylor in coordination with Athletic Director Nathan Werremeyer, the list highlights both individual academic achievement and overall team performance. The honor roll also recognizes student-athletes who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the academic year.

Baseball led all programs with 22 student-athletes earning a spot on the honor roll, followed by softball with 14 and women's soccer with 13. Men's soccer added 12 selections, while football totaled 11. Additional contributions came from men's track (10), women's basketball (8), women's track (9), Raymond cheer (8), men's tennis (7), women's tennis (4), men's basketball (1), Utica cheer (4), and men's golf (3).

A total of 13 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, with baseball leading the way with six individuals achieving that mark. Softball and women's soccer each had two student-athletes finish with a 4.0, while men's tennis and women's tennis also contributed one each.

Team GPA performance continued to trend upward across several programs. Softball posted the highest team GPA at 3.36, followed closely by women's track at 3.34 and men's tennis at 3.21. Baseball also turned in a strong performance with a 3.20 GPA, while men's track posted a 3.09 mark. Additional team GPA highlights included Raymond Cheer (3.08), women's tennis (3.06), and women's soccer (3.02).

Overall, Hinds Athletics finished with a department GPA of 2.97, narrowly missing its goal of a 3.00. However, the continued improvement across multiple programs reflects the department's ongoing emphasis on academic success and student-athlete development.
