Member Benefits
Membership in the Athletic Alumni Chapter is open to former athletes and coaches. Annual membership dues of $35 entitles member to a one year membership which includes the following benefits:
- Season passes to home events for the Hinds sport of your choosing (must be a renewed member before August 1st to qualify for this benefit before that academic season; will begin in the 25-26 season)
- Annual AAC newsletter highlighting the year and alumni achievements.
- Alumni decal and other paraphernalia
- Priority for participating in leadership and character development program for current athletes
- This initiative will provide alumni with the opportunity to give back to the lives of athletes and coaches by sharing their experiences at Hinds and after leaving Hinds. It will emphasize important characteristics and values like the Hinds Community College IDEALS: Integrity, Diversity, Excellence, Accountability, Leadership, and Stewardship. From pre-game talks to athletic department meetings, these opportunities aim to teach athletes that there is more to life than just being an athlete, while also encouraging coaches in their roles. Volunteering to speak to athletes as an alumnus is a fantastic opportunity, both for you and for the students you'll inspire. As someone who has walked the path they're currently on, you have valuable insights and experiences that can truly motivate and guide them. The impact you can have by sharing your journey—your successes, challenges, and the lessons you learned along the way, will be valuable to those following your steps. As you know, athletes often face pressure and uncertainty, and your story can provide them with perspective and encouragement. Your words could help them navigate their own challenges, reminding them that perseverance and hard work can lead to incredible achievements. Moreover, connecting with young athletes allows you to give back to the community that shaped you. It's a chance to foster a sense of legacy and show them that they, too, can make their mark. Engaging with them not only uplifts their spirits but also reinforces your own ties to your alma mater and strengthens your network with fellow alumni. Speaking to them and investing in this way is not just about what you can give; it's also about what you will gain. The gratitude and energy you receive from those you inspire can be incredibly rewarding. So, take this opportunity to share your passion and wisdom—it could change a life!
5. Invitation to any AAC meeting in addition to the annual meeting held in conjunction with the Athletic Alumni Chapter Banquet
6. Meetings will occur twice a year and you will have the opportunity to have your voice. Fill out the form to have your request added to the agenda.
7. After 3 consecutive years of membership, your children or grandchildren are eligible to receive an athletic alumni association chapter scholarship to attend Hinds.
