MERIDIAN – The Hinds Community College Men's Tennis Team opened up their season this past Saturday (Feb. 9) with a 7-2 victory over Oxford-Emory.
Carlos Trujillo and
Mateo Garcia opened up doubles match play for the Eagles with an 8-3 victory.
Eric Holmes and
Drew Rexrode followed with an 8-6 win in doubles.
Almost simultaneously,
Bryce Livingston and
Chris Adams won their doubles match 8-6.
Chris Adams then widened the lead to 4-0 for Hinds with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in his singles match.
Carlos Trujillo clinched the overall victory for the Eagles with a 6-4, 6-2 win in his singles match.
The Eagles go to 1-0 overall on the season and will be back in action Tuesday, February 12 against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on the road in Perkinston. The scheduled start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
