Three key pieces to the Hinds Eagle baseball team's playoff run in 2021 have been named all-state by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference.
Sophomore catcher
Pablo Lanzarote, of Venezuela, was named first-team all-state. Lanzarote batted .336 for the season and led the team in homers, with 13, and slugging percentage, .723. On defense, his 295 putouts were good for 20
th nationally.
Sophomore left-handed pitcher
Bryce Brock, of Hernando, and freshman infielder/outfielder
Matt Corder, of Madison, were named to the second team. Brock went 5-4 on the mound during his team-leading 53.1 innings pitched. His 2.53 ERA was good for 12
th nationally.
Corder's .458 batting average led the team among players with at least 100 at-bats. He added 27 RBIs and also went 2-0 with one save on the mound as a right-handed pitcher.
