UTICA – For the first time this season, the Bulldogs reached the century mark in scoring when they defeated the Piney Woods Prep Tornadoes 118-73 Thursday evening on Earl Joe Nelson Court.
"It was an all-around great team performance," said head coach Jonathan Nevol. "We performed well on both sides of the ball."
On the night, six Bulldogs found double digits in scoring. Leading the charge was Patrick McCraney (Monroe, LA) with 24 points. Taylon Smith (Vicksburg) joined McCraney with 20-plus points when he finished with 23 points. 21 of Smith's points came on seven made three point baskets.
"I was pleased with the offensive success we had, but we had some lulls on defense that we need to improve on," said Nevol. "Overall, it was a good job by the team to have the right approach and take care of business."
Two Bulldogs also finished with double doubles. Kenard Bowie (Jackson) finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Edarious Williams (Coffeeville) scored 10 points and pulled down 14 rebounds. Rylen Walker (Baton Rouge, LA) and Isaiah Daniel (Compton, CA) join the other four Bulldogs with a double digit scoring performance.
