Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 RAYMOND – Hinds Community College softball split a double-header with Southwest Mississippi Community College after falling in game one 4-0 and taking game two 8-5.

Game one

The Lady Eagles' offense was stifled by Bears' pitcher Jensen Gremillion. The Eagles had runners on base every inning, aside from the third, but could never push runners across to score. The Eagles would tally three hits, with four walks, and two hit by pitches, but would leave 11 runners stranded on the base paths.

Calloway would tote the seven-inning load for the Eagles in the circle. She would surrender four runs on 11 hits while striking out two.

Game two

The offense set fire in game two scoring eight runs on 10 hits. Hannah Tauzin (New Iberia, La.) continued her hot streak at the plate with three hits and would be followed by six other Eagles earning hits.

The Eagles would nearly bat around in the second inning while scoring three runs on back-to-back-to-back, two out RBI singles by Ashley Lightcap (Lafayette, La.), Tauzin, and Macey Everett (Hernando).

In the fourth inning, Melina Seiferd (Saucier) would also record a two-out RBI double. Ava Aslam (Madison) would also join the two-out RBI crew with a double in the bottom of the sixth to drive in two insurance runs.

Seiferd got the start, but her stint in the circle was cut short after giving up four runs in the second inning. ShaeLa Lawrence (Leesville, La.) would come in to shut down the Bears' offense. Lawrence would finish the game going five innings, allowing one run on five hits, and stranding seven runners on base.
