UTICA, Miss. – In the final non-conference game of the season, the Hinds Community College Lady Bulldogs came from behind to defeat Copiah-Lincoln Community College in the fourth quarter by a final score of 66-61 on Saturday afternoon at J.D. Boyd Gymnasium.
After a face paced first quarter, the Lady Bulldogs trailed by five points going into the second quarter of play. Both teams scored 14 points in the second quarter to go into the halftime break with the score of 25-20 with the Lady Wolves holding the slight advantage.
Co-Lin continued to score coming out of halftime as they led 40-33 going into the final quarter of regulation. The Lady Bulldogs had work to do in the fourth quarter and they stepped up to the challenge. Hinds scored 33 points in the final frame to lift the Lady Bulldogs to a 66-61 victory over the Co-Lin Lady Wolves in Utica on Saturday afternoon.
Kimiyah Williams led all scorers with 14 points and made four three pointers in the contest.
Lamaria Jones chipped in 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Tra'Shaylah Wilson was clutch in the final quarter of play going 9-10 from the charity stripe.
Brooklyn Harris scored eight points in the game from the 5 position, while
Chasity Woodard totaled six points.
Jaydia Morris and
Brianna Jordan closed the scoring for the Lady Bulldogs in their final game before conference play starts.
The Lady Bulldogs will return to action on Thursday, January 18 against the Jones College Lady Bobcats inside J.D Boyd Gymnasium to open MACCC play.
