RAYMOND, Miss. – Hinds Community College men's soccer player Gian Filizzola  earned his first accolade of the season on Tuesday, being named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Offensive Player of the Week.

Gian played a key role in powering Hinds' offense during their dominant 9-1 mercy-rule victory over East Mississippi Community College on Friday evening. He notched a hat trick, scoring three goals to help lead Hinds to victory. 

Filizzola and the rest of the Eagles will be back in action on Friday as they host Southwest Mississippi Community College. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM at Tom Shepherd Field.
