JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) has announced its 2025 Football awards, with Hinds Community College earning twelve selections to the All-MACCC teams.
All-MACCC South First Team – Jaylon Ruffin
Freshman quarterback
Jaylon Ruffin earned a spot on the All-MACCC South First Team after an exceptional debut season. Ruffin started all nine games for the Eagles, throwing for 1,995 yards and accounting for 17 total touchdowns. He quickly emerged as one of the conference's top signal-callers, ranking in the top 10 in completions (154), attempts (247), completion percentage (62.3), passing yards (1,995), and yards per game (221.7).
All-MACCC South First Team – Braishuan Forbes
Freshman wide receiver Braishaun Forbes earned a spot on the All-MACCC South First Team after a standout inaugural season with the Eagles. Forbes played in all nine games, racking up 522 receiving yards and five touchdowns while emerging as a reliable big-play threat. He showcased his efficiency and explosiveness throughout the year, ranking in the top 20 nationally in receiving yards (522), yards per game (58.0), yards per catch (18.0), and touchdowns (5).
All-MACCC South First Team – Micah Hampton
Sophomore defensive lineman
Micah Hampton earned a spot on the All-MACCC South First Team for the first time in his career following a dominant season. Hampton appeared in all nine games, recording 17 total tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. A constant presence in the trenches, he consistently disrupted opposing offenses and proved to be a quarterback's toughest challenge.
All-MACCC South First Team – Kevin Beckham
Freshman athlete
Kevin Beckham grabbed a spot on the All-MACCC South First Team after a stellar rookie campaign on defense. Beckham finished the season with 49 total tackles, three interceptions, and four forced fumbles.
All-MACCC South First Team – Jermar McCarter
Sophomore linebacker
Jermar McCarter earned a spot on the All-MACCC First Team in his first season with the Eagles. McCarter finished his 2025 campaign playing in all nine games. Additionally, he collected 61 total tackles, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
All-MACCC South First Team – Amarien Bailey
Sophomore linebacker
Amarien Bailey was selected to be a member of the All-MACCC South First Team in his first season with the Eagles. Bailey finished the season with 48 total tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery during the 2025 season.
All-MACCC South Second Team – DJ Miller
Freshman return specialist
DJ Miller earned a place on the All-MACCC South Second Team after a standout rookie campaign for Hinds. Miller made a strong impact on special teams, finishing the 2025 season with 333 total yards and three touchdowns.
All-MACCC South Second Team – Detraun Brown
Freshman wide receiver
Detraun Brown earned a place on the All-MACCC South Second Team after an impressive rookie season. Brown appeared in all nine games for the Eagles, totaling 308 yards and scoring four touchdowns as a consistent playmaker on offense.
All-MACCC South Second Team – Caleb Bryant
Sophomore defensive lineman
Caleb Bryant earned a spot on the All-MACCC South Second Team after a strong 2025 campaign. Bryant was a force up front for the Eagles, finishing the season with 28 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries.
All-MACCC South Second Team – Kaleb Washington
Defensive back
Kaleb Washington earned a spot on the All-MACCC South Second Team after delivering a breakout sophomore season. Washington was a playmaker throughout the year, recording 25 total tackles, four interceptions, and two touchdowns.
All-MACCC South Honorable Mention Team – Miles Adams
Defensive lineman
Miles Adams earned a spot on the All-MACCC Honorable Mention Team after a strong season in the trenches. Adams was a consistent presence up front, finishing the year with 21 total tackles, one fumble recovery, and a defensive touchdown.
All-MACCC South Honorable Mention Team – DJ Hairston
Defensive back
DJ Hairston earned a place on the All-MACCC Honorable Mention Team following a standout rookie campaign. Hairston made an immediate impact for the Eagles, finishing the season with 20 total tackles, one fumble recovery, two interceptions, and seven pass breakups.
