eSports Wraps Up Regular Season with Strong Playoff Push

RAYMOND, Miss. - As the regular season comes to a close, the Hinds eSports program is surging into playoff territory with impressive performances across all three divisions. From undefeated records to national qualifications, our student-athletes have showcased skill, strategy, and school pride in every match.
Division 1 – Madden Julian Johnson has dominated the Division 1 Madden circuit, finishing the regular season undefeated at 7-0. His stellar performance has earned him the #1 seed in the Central Region and a spot in next week's Regional Playoffs. If he finishes in the top four, he'll advance to the National Playoffs in December.
Division 2 – Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Thomas Fair, known in-game as "Morty," has qualified for Nationals after an outstanding 11-2 regular season record. Division 2 skips regional play, so Thomas will jump straight into national competition starting next week.
Division 3 – Opt-In Tournament Division 3 offers an open competition format, culminating in an Opt-In Tournament seeded by qualifier performance. Our Super Smash Brothers Ultimate squad has been especially strong, posting a combined 27-7 record. Four players have qualified for the tournament, which begins next Tuesday: Other standout Smash players include Quentin Jones "Saucey Sauce" (3-0) and Josiah Brown "JoCo Nuff" (3-0).
In NBA 2K, Darius Collins "Sedated" and Cary Collins "bzrrq" have combined for a 3-1 record, with Cary leading at 2-1.
Cameron Smith "IShadowChase" has also represented in Madden with a solid 1-1 record.
Fortnite No Build and Marvel Rivals teams have qualified for the Opt-In Tournament despite tough seasons (both finishing 1-6). Their resilience and teamwork have earned them a shot at postseason play.
