The Lady Bulldogs basketball team got off to a nice 4-2 start to the season, but has since dropped two games in a row to even their overall record at 4-4.
Hinds lost, 62-37, on Monday night in Utica to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to fall to 0-2 in South division play.
Carmen Smith of Jackson, a freshman forward, led Hinds with nine points on Monday night.
The Lady Bulldogs played the Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats on Thursday, Dec. 2, and were looking to get off to a good start in South division play. However, Hinds was humbled, 89-57, by the Lady Bobcats in Ellisville.
Raven Hubbard of Mendenhall, a freshman forward, was the only double digit scorer for Hinds, as she ended the night with 10 points.
Hinds did step out of divisional play on Monday, Nov. 29, and it was a successful evening for the Lady Bulldogs, as they defeated Delgado (La.) Community College, 67-52.
Hubbard led all scorers with 18 points on the night.
Hinds will now host Meridian Community College on Thursday night in Utica. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
