Lady Bulldogs end season on a positive note

Raven Hubbard had a double-double in the season finale

The 2011-2012 basketball season did not go entirely as the Hinds Lady Bulldogs had planned, but the team did end the year on a positive note on Thursday evening, defeating Southwest Community College, 70-56, on the road in Summit.

The victory moved Hinds to 4-19 overall and 2-10 in the tough South division.

Carmen Smith of Jackson, a sophomore forward, led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points on Thursday night.

Raven Hubbard of Mendenhall, a sophomore forward, had a double-double against the Lady Bears of Southwest, finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Hubbard also had a big night in a 97-71 loss to Meridian Community College on Monday night. She finished with 18 points, six rebounds and four steals.
