Women's basketball falls at Southwest on Monday

The Hinds Community College women's basketball team headed to Southwest Community College on Monday evening looking for a South division victory, but fell to the Lady Bears, 75-54, in the final game before the Christmas break.

Te'Ara Thompson (Pascagoula) led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring on Monday night, tallying 12 points, as well as finishing with four assists, two rebounds and one steal. Felicia Guynes (Magee) also finished with a solid stat line with 11 points, five rebounds and one steal.

The Lady Bulldogs were also in action at home on Thursday, Dec. 4, hosting Copiah-Lincoln Community College in what amounted to a 92-69 loss.

Lineasia Palmer (Woodville) led the way in scoring for Hinds with 13 points, as well as ending the night with two assists and two rebounds.

The Lady Bulldogs (1-8) picked up their lone win to date on Monday, Nov. 24, defeating Delgado (La.) Community College, 39-38, in the Big Easy.

Erica Harris (Edwards) was the only double digit scorer versus the Lady Dolphins, capping her evening with 11 points.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action after the extended break on Tuesday, Jan. 6, hosting Holmes Community College in a non-conference tilt at J.D. Boyd Gym in Utica.
