Women's basketball drops close one to Pearl River

The Hinds Community College women's basketball team dropped a tough 47-41 contest to Pearl River Community College on Thursday night in Utica.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Lineasa Palmer (Woodville), who led the team in both scoring (10 points) and rebounds (six) in the narrow loss.

Hinds (2-17) hosted Southwest Community College on Monday evening at J.D. Boyd Gym in Utica, but were unable to come away with a South division victory, falling to SWCC, 65-46.

Sh'Nika Smith (Canton) had a huge night for the Lady Bulldogs, scoring a team-high 17 points and grabbing a game-high seven rebounds in the defeat.

After two home dates this past week, the Lady Bulldogs will once again hit the road, traveling to Meridian Community College on Monday night at 6 p.m.
