Softball moves DH vs. ECCC up to Friday

The Hinds Community College softball team was scheduled to host East Central Community College on Saturday, but due to the heavy threat of incoming rain, the two-game set has now been moved up to Friday.

Game time is set for 1 p.m. on Friday at Rene Warren Field in Raymond.

The Lady Eagles traveled to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Tuesday looking to come away with a victory, but dropped both games of the double dip, falling in game one, 3-1, and 11-0 in game two.

Alexis Kinard (Terry) led Hinds in game one on the offensive side by going 2-3. Katie Bunch (Waynesboro) was 1-4 and drove in the lone run of the opener.

Bridgett Goss (Bogalusa, La.) was the hard-luck loser in the circle after going six innings and allowing only three runs (two earned), two walks, seven hits and picking up one strikeout.

Hinds (7-13) was led by Meagan Duchesne (Mangham, La.) in game two, as she was 2-2 and picked up the only two hits for the Lady Eagles in the 11-0 loss.

Jessica Travis (Oak Grove, La.) took the loss in the circle in the second game.
