The wins kept on coming for the No. 1 ranked Hinds Community College baseball team on Wednesday in Raymond, as the Eagles swept a home doubleheader from Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

Hinds (27-2 overall and 14-2 in conference play) won game one, 2-1, before grabbing the win in the second game, 10-3.

Marshall Boggs (Cleveland) was 3-4 in Wednesday's first game and was flanked by Jonathan Washam (Sterlington, La.) and Tyler Cox (Brandon), who each picked up two hits in the opener.

All three hitters had a double, with Washam picking up an RBI as well. Casey Echols (Braxton) drove in the game's additional run on a deep sacrifice fly.

Houston Case (Brookhaven) grabbed the win in relief on the hill, throwing 1.1 innings and not allowing a runner to reach base. He is now 5-1 on the season.

Case entered in relief of starter Derek Martin (Flora), who had another solid outing on the mound, going 5.2 innings and finishing with three strikeouts and one earned run allowed. He also scattered three hits and did not allow a walk, earning a no decision in the process.

Austin Sanders (Madison) picked up his eighth save of the 2015 season with a scoreless ninth inning in game one.

Hinds broke out the bats in a big way in game two, as the Eagles finished with 10 runs and 13 hits en route to the blowout victory.

Washam was 3-4 with a run scored, but it was Echols who delivered the knockout punch, a three-run home run in the second inning, that led to the win.

Matt Jones (Madison) finished 3-3 with three runs scored and two RBI, and Chase Lunceford (Clinton) added some insurance by going 2-4 with two RBI in the nightcap.

Casey Sutton (Monroe, La.) moved to 4-0 on the season after throwing the first 3.2 innings and allowing only one run to cross the plate. He gave up three hits and two walks and had three strikeouts.

Trey Jolly (New Albany) was stellar out of the bullpen for the Eagles, throwing a scoreless sixth inning and picking up two strikeouts in a dominant performance.

Hinds will now travel to Scooba on Saturday to face East Mississippi Community College. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
