UTICA- Hinds Community College women's basketball team fell in a tough game against Copiah-Lincoln Community College in a home bout Tuesday night (Jan. 22) at J.D. Boyd Gymnasium in Utica.
 
The Hinds Lady Bulldogs were not able to overcome some rough sledding early in the game as they fell to the Lady Wolves 52 – 70 in Tuesday night's matchup. Despite being down 16 and 18 at the conclusion of the second and third quarters, respectively, the women's team was able to bring the Lady Wolves' lead to 10 points midway through the fourth quarter. But, late shooting woes and good ball control by Co-Lin put a finish to the Hinds comeback.
 
In leading the fourth quarter comeback, Victoria Johnson (Camden) hit six three-pointers and some tough layups in an inspired effort to put the team back in the game. Johnson's exceptional shooting was not enough as Co-Lin was able to run away with the game in the final minutes. 
 
The Lady Bulldogs find themselves at 5-8 on the season with conference play still in its early stages. They will surely be looking to make a quick turnaround as they enter the meat of their conference schedule over the next few weeks. Their next bout will feature another home matchup against East Central Community College (11-3) in Utica on Thursday, January 24 at 5:30 p.m.
