SUMMIT- The Hinds Community College Bulldogs fell 64-73 in a back and forth matchup on the road against the Southwest Mississippi Community College (SMCC) Lady bears Thursday evening.

The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the first quarter and held the lead until the Lady Bears took an 18-17 advantage with 1:54 remaining in the quarter.

Hinds responded back in the second quarter and took a 34-30 heading into the halftime.

The third quarter featured four lead changed before the Lady Bears took a three-point lead (52-49) heading into the fourth quarter.

Once again, the Lady Bulldogs responded and re-captured a 53-52 lead early in the fourth quarter. However, with just 9:03 left in the game SMCC apprehended a one-point lead over Hinds and slowly built upon the lead the remainder of the way before finishing with a 73-64 MACJC South Division victory over the Lady Bulldogs.

With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs of Hinds falls to 5-11 overall and 0-8 in the MACJC South.

The Lady Bulldogs will look to break their seven-game skid Monday (Feb. 4) when they take on Jones College (16-1, 8-0) at home in Utica. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
