UTICA - The Hinds Community College women's basketball team begins their 2021-2022 season tomorrow on the road at East Central. Having a lot of new faces on this team, the lady bulldogs are looking for redemption this season.
"The Lady Bulldogs are looking for redemption this season," head coach
Jackie Martin-Glass said. "We will respect all opponents, but fear none of them."
Coach Glass returns two players from last year's squad. Sophomore center
Nyekuar Quik (Tacoma, Wash.) is a true rim-protector and brings a veteran presence down low. Sophomore guard
Sade Thompson (Jackson) also brings experience to the Bulldog backcourt.
Other players to watch include
Patrice Broomfield (Clarksdale) and
Lyric Nelson (Baton Rouge, La.). Broomfield, a combo guard out of Clarksdale, brings needed depth to the guard position. Nelson, a power forward from Baton Rouge, looks to bring in rebounds and grab points in the paint for the Bulldogs.
The opening game is set to tip-off at 5 p.m. in Decatur. If you can't make it to the game, watch the livestream at
