Box Score UTICA – A slow start to the game didn't stop the Lady Bulldogs of Hinds from coming back to scare the Lady Warriors of East Central.
The first quarter was a rarity with the Bulldogs only scoring one point on a free throw by
Adja Bryant (Brandon). At the end of the first quarter, Hinds trailed 22-1 and had their work cut-out for them in the coming quarters.
Similarly, East Central was held to single digits in the second quarter when they scored only four points. Hinds would get 14 points to make the score 26-15 at the half.
Deondrea Young (McComb) would cash-in six points at the end of the first half to give the Bulldogs the needed momentum going into the break.
Throughout the second half, Hinds would gradually cut the lead to single digits. Some timely shooting from the field by Young and
Jayiah Ransom (Jackson) would help the Bulldogs claw back in the game.
Leading the charge was Young who scored 15 points off the bench. Nine of her points came in the second half alone. Ransom totaled 10 points in the game, the only other Bulldog in double-digit scoring. Rounding out the scoring was
