RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Baseball team earned a spot in postseason play to cap off the 2023 season. 
 
The Eagles finished the season with a 27-24 overall record and 15-13 in Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) play. Over the course of the season, the Eagles earned conference sweeps over Coahoma, #3 Pearl River, Mississippi Delta, Gulf Coast, Co-Lin, and Holmes. Hinds ended their season in the Region XXIII first round in a best of three series with Itawamba. 
 
On the offensive side of the ball, the Eagles were led by duo Connor Chisolm and Dylan Coleman. Chisolm had a team high .419 batting average with 68 runs scored, four triples, drew 34 walks, stole 31 bases,and a .542 on-base percentage. Coleman led the team with a 1.269 OBS, 18 doubles, 14 Homeruns, 66 RBI, .776 slugging percentage and four sacrifice flies. Chisolm and Colman led the team with 70 hits apiece in 51 games. 
 
On the mound, Ryan Herbison led the pitching staff with a 6-6 record in 12 appearances and totaled 56 strikeouts. Matthew Azordegan had a 3.14 ERA, which was the lowest on the team and posted a 4-3 record on the bump with a complete game.
