2023 Hinds Softball Season Recap

RAYMOND, Miss. – The 2023 Hinds Community College Softball team finished the season 9-37 and 6-22 in Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC).
 
The Lady Eagles would grab a doubleheader sweep over Baton Rouge Community College early in the season and earned another win over Baton Rouge at the end of February to go 3-1 against the Lady Bears during the 2023 season. 
 
On March 18th, the Hinds Softball team picked up their first two wins in conference play by defeating Coahoma Community College 15-2 and 10-3. The Lady Eagles went on a four-game winning streak in the month of April by defeating MACCC foes Meridian Community College and Mississippi Delta Community College. The Lady Eagles played 18 games against ranked opponents, which was a little over 39% of their schedule. 
 
Alexis Moran led the Lady Eagles offensively with a .336 Batting Average 25 Runs Scored, 45 Hits, 11 Stolen Bases, and played in all 46 contests for the Lady Eagles. Kaitlyn Papizan had a team-high of eight doubles and six triples in 42 games played this season. Presley Dease and Natalie Martin hit three homeruns apiece, which was a team-high. Martin and Papizan tallied 17 RBI apiece to lead the Lady Eagles in that category.

Sara Long - .333 AVG, 33 hits, 14 runs, 11 RBI
Presley Dease - .284 AVG, 27 hits, 13 runs, 11 RBI
Kaitlyn Papizan - .273 AVG, 30 hits, 12 runs, 17 RBI
Jaelyn Bass - .265 AVG, 13 hits, 6 runs, 5 RBI
Melina Seiferd - .250 ABG, 22 hits, 14 runs, 12 RBI

Riley Myers – 73.2 IP, 4.85 ERA. 47 SO, 40 BB
