Former Eagle Landon Tomkins Selected in the 2023 MLB Draft

RAYMOND, Miss. – Former Hinds Community College baseball player Landon Tomkins (2019-2020) was selected in the 2023 MLB Draft.

Tompkins, of Brandon, was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 10^th Round and was the 287^th pick. During his time at Hinds, he made 21 appearances with a 1-1 record on the mound and 25.0 innings pitched. Additionally, Tomkins totaled 23 strikeouts and finished his Hinds' career with a 1.98 ERA.

Tomkins played a vital role of the overall success during the 2019 season and the 2020 season before it was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After Hinds, he continued his career at Louisiana Tech University where he was primarily the go to guy out of the bullpen for the past three seasons.
