Women's Tennis

Men’s and Women’s Tennis Defeat Bevill State at Home

RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Tennis teams grabbed a pair of victories on Tuesday as the Women's team dominated Bevill State,9-0, and the Men's team earned a 7-2 win over Bears.
 
WOMEN

On the women's side, the Lady Eagles dominated from the opening serve. Alara Akgul and Fabiola Guedez earned an 8-0 convincing win over the Lady Bears' top duo. Macie Shelton and Hanna Hoop grabbed an 8-1 victory in the No. 2 Doubles position. Sydnee Teague and Lucy Warner won the No. 3 Doubles via the Walkover.
 
Alara Akgul grabbed her second victory of the day with a 6-1,6-0 win over Bevill State's top Singles player. Hanna Hoop played flawlessly as she picked up a 6-0,6-0 win in the No. 2 spot. Fabiola Guedez dominated her opponent in the No. 3 position with a. final score of 6-0,6-0. Macie Shelton played well in the contest and grabbed a 6-2,6-0 victory for the Lady Eagles. Sydnee Teague and Lucy Warner earned a win via walkover.
 
MEN

Gabriel Masu and Luka Uzelac set the tone for the Eagles, grabbing an 8-1 win in the No. 1 Doubles spot. Reese Harper and Fabian Juarez also won the #2 position by a final score of 8-3.
 
In singles play, Gabriel Masu posted his second victory of the day with a 6-4,6-0 win at the No.1 spot. Fabian grabbed the victory in the No. 2 position by a final score of 6-1,6-1. Luka dominated his singles match, defeating Lincoln Young 6-0,6-0. Reese Harper grabbed his second win of the afternoon with a 7-5,6-4 win over Creed Clardy. Rounding out the winners for Hinds was James Logan Gibson, who won his match 7-5,6-4.
 
Both Tennis teams will return to the courts on Friday against Southwest Mississippi CC in conference play at the Cleon McKnight Tennis Center in Raymond. The first serve is slated to begin at 10 AM (weather permitting).
