JACKSON, Miss. –
Kyleigh Forsyth of the Hinds Community College Softball team has been named the Softball Pitcher of the Week by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference following her performances in the circle last week.
Forsyth was dominant in the circle for the Lady Eagles last week as she earned one win against #4 PRCC and a win against #11 NWCC. Forsyth helped the Lady Eagles to a 3-1 week over ranked opponents. In the win against PRCC, she threw a complete game shutout to upset the #4 ranked team at Rene T. Warren Field.
Over the course of the season, the Lady Eagles' ace is 11-2 with a 2.81 ERA and opponents are hitting .245 off the Texas native. Additionally, she has struck out 47 batters and only gave up 16 walks.
Kyleigh and the rest of the No. 16 Lady Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, April 3 against Meridian Community College in Meridian. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 PM.
