RAYMOND, Miss. –
Dawson Muenzenmay and
La'Nica Locker earned the prestigious Eagle Award for their outstanding achievements in both academics and athletics, representing the baseball and women's track and field teams respectively. Their dedication and performance in the classroom and in competition set them apart this year.
The award is given out each year to the most outstanding Male and Female student-athletes during the past year at Hinds Community College. The head coaches from each sport submit their nominations to the Hinds Athletics Administrative staff to go through and select the award winners.
Muenzenmay is the third consecutive winner for the baseball team following
Connor Chisolm (2023) and
Lincoln Sheffield (2024). On the mound, Muenzenmay finished with 62.1 innings pitched to go along with a 4.91 ERA. Additionally, he posted 51 strikeouts and only gave up five homeruns in the entire season. Offensively, he concluded the season with a .400 batting average, 1.037 OPS, 38 hits, four doubles, three homeruns, and 17 RBI. Muenzenmay signed with Delta State University where he will come in and make an immediate impact for the Statemen.

La'Nica ran her season best in the 200m at the NJCCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 22.99.
