RAYMOND, Miss. –Sophomore
Ethan Keen of the Hinds Baseball team has been named the MACCC Baseball Position Player of the Week after a historic offensive performance that helped power the Eagles to a perfect 4-0 week.
Keen turned in one of the most impressive weeks of the season at the plate, hitting .438 while blasting five home runs and driving in 12 RBI. He also scored nine runs and posted a .526 on-base percentage and a 1.375 slugging percentage as Hinds picked up wins over Mississippi Delta Community College and Meridian Community College.
The Jackson, Mississippi native highlighted the week by setting the Hinds Baseball record for home runs in the BBCOR era. Keen launched his 18th homer of the season while blasting three home runs in a doubleheader sweep against Mississippi Delta Community College, helping the Eagles secure victories of 19-4 and 12-8.
Earlier in the week, Keen delivered another standout performance against Meridian Community College, hitting two home runs in a doubleheader sweep as Hinds earned wins of 12-7 and 11-10.
Hinds will return to action on Wednesday, April 1
st against Southwest Mississippi CC in Raymond at Joe G. Moss Field. First pitch of the doubleheader is currently set for 3 PM.
