Lady bulldogs stay hot heading into conference play

Guard Ernesha Chatman

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Stillman JV in convincing fashion on Wednesday night with a 106-28 victory. Hinds started off a little sluggish in the first three minutes, but back to back steals by Ernesha Chatman ignited a 27-2 run to end the first quarter. Coach Tomekia Reed kept her foot on the gas for much of the night with her pressure defense and the Lady Tigers from Stillman could never get comfortable. The Lady Bulldogs had 30 steals on the night and forced over 40 turnovers.

Twila Hill led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points and four rebounds. Alisha Fortenberry had a big night with 13 points to go along with four rebounds, four steals and an assist. Olivia Jorden added 14 points and grabbed six rebounds. Kaletreon Baker chipped in 12 points and three steals. Ernesha Chatman finished with 11 points and 10 steals for the Lady Bulldogs.

Hinds begins conference play next Monday as they travel to Perkinston to take on Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The game is slated for a 5:30 pm tip-off.
