UTICA - The Hinds Bulldogs women's basketball team fell to the Meridian Community College (MCC) Lady Eagles last night at home in Utica.
The Lady Bulldogs gave the home crowd a cause to rally, however, as the score remained within one point all the way through halftime, with Meridian leading 29-28.
The Lady Bulldogs eventually took the lead early in the second half when Acacia Stewart hit a mid-range jumper to give the Bulldogs a 30-29 lead.
However, by the end of the third quarter Meridian began to pull away with a 10 point lead (46-36).
In the fourth quarter, MCC outscored Hinds 16-12 to capture the 62-48 win.
The Lady Bulldogs now sit at 2-8 overall and 0-3 in the MACJC South. They will be back in action this Thursday (Jan. 16) as they travel to Poplarville to take on the Pearl River Community College Lady Wildcats.

Nyah Davis (Indianola) paced the Lady Bulldog with 10 total points.
Andrika Carter led the team with seven rebounds while finishing with nine total points. Carter now has 24 rebounds through four games played on the year.
Annissa Jackson tallied four points, four steals, and four rebounds.
Kerrigan Johnson collected six points of her own. Johnson leads the team with a total of 111 points and 24 three-point shot's made through 10 games this season.
